About us

The club was formed by several parents who had been taking their children along to ‘drop in ice hockey’ at Harvies, Stevenston. The children soon all became hooked on the game and wanted to play competitive ice hockey within the league structure. At that time the ice rink at Harvies did not comply with the Scottish Ice Hockey Association (S.I.H.A.) guidelines on ice rink size. The Magnum Centre in Irvine was approached for ice time for training and games, approval was given, and our first team The Penguins were formed.

More recently, North Ayrshire Council have now worked in conjunction with our hockey club and other local ice sport clubs to redevelop the ice rink at the Auchenharvie Leisure Centre, this has given us, and other ice groups a great facility and makes playing hockey with N.A.I.H.C a better experience for all.

Our club now have five age groups competing within the national league structure at the moment, these consist of The Wild (SNL ), The Devils (under 18′s), The Predators (under 16′s), The Stars (under 14′s) and The Penguins (under 12′s).We also have two development groups The Sabres (under 10′s) and The Ducks (under 8′s). All age groups details can be viewed on this site, use the links on the team pages to see the player stats, fixtures, MOM, match reports etc… The teams travel all over Scotland playing in their respective Scottish League and at different invitational tournaments, we also take teams to compete in similar tournaments in England and have even ventured to Sweden.
